Miley Cyrus- The climb
That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
You'll never reach it,
Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high
There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing,
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down but
No I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause
There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah)
Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It's all about
It's all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith
Whoa a oh oh

Questions of the Heart
by Marianne Liaw
The heart is a fragile things indeed
One gentle prick may cause it to bleed
If it is subjected to hurt again and again
Could it possibly endure this intolerable pain?
Is there no antidote, no potent cure?
Can a heart that is tainted ever be made pure?
Can past grievances be forgotten and completely erased?
Can the scars of the past disappear without a trace?
If a heart has been wounded, is there any relief?
Is there any escape from fear, sorrow or grief?
If one has been subjected to such ruthless betrayal
can he still trust that love will prevail?
A heart that lies bruised and broken
From painful words that have been carelessly spoken
Shattered into innumerable pieces
All scattered about in a million pieces
But believe these words for they are true
O wretched heart, there is hope yet for you
For though all else may eventually pass away
True love will persevere at the end of the day

Lessons in Life
2. Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel it hurts you, it will probably hurt the other person, too
3. To run away from trouble is a form of cowardice and, everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end.
4. We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only thier own pain and renunciation. It's one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it's another to think that yours is the only path.
5. Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. It's better to be defeated on principle than to win on lies.
6. Most things break, including hearts. The lessons of life amount not to wisdom, but to scar tissue and callus
7. To err is human, to forgive divine.
8. Life moves on, whether we act as cowards or heroes.

Taylor Swift - Breathe
'Cause none of us thought it was gonna end that way
People are people and sometimes we change our minds
But it's killing me to see you go after all this time
Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm
Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm
Music starts playin' like the end of a sad movie
It's the kinda ending you don't really wanna see
'Cause it's tragedy and it'll only bring you down
Now I don't know what to be without you around
And we know it's never simple, never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand
And I can't breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to
Never wanted this, never want to see me hurt
Every little bump in the road I tried to swerve
People are people and sometimes it doesn't work out
Nothing we say is gonna save us from the fall out
And we know it's never simple, never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand
And I can't breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to
It's two a.m., feelin' like I just lost a friend
Hope you know it's not easy, easy for me
It's two a.m., feelin' like I just lost a friend
Hope you know this ain't easy, easy for me
And we know it's never simple, never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me, oh
I can't breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to

random
1. life is sometimes unfair, because bad things happen to good people.
2. God works in mysterious ways.
3. I despise lies. I hate liars. I do not lie (maybe occasionally white lie) and i do not like to be lied to. I hate it. I think liars are scumbags of the earth.
4. A 6 story scaffold collapse near where i work, and if i had not moved to my new apt, i would pass that route most of the time when i go home because that road was brightly lit. it was lucky that only three ppl (workers) were injured but the building collapse damaged tram lines and cars that were parked in front of it. My colleague had the nerve to tell me that the builders are the Asian Pacific Building Corporation. Emphasizing on the word Asian, because he concluded that this kind of things only happen in Asia.

Scaffolding collapses, three men hurt
Greg Roberts
February 24, 2009
Three workers have had a "miracle" escape after six levels of scaffolding collapsed at a Melbourne building site.
The three men, aged 24, 28 and 52, were taken to The Alfred hospital wearing neck braces. All are in stable condition.
The falling scaffolding also damaged half a dozen parked cars and pulled down power lines and overhead tram lines, blocking traffic.

Gotta Be Somebody- Nickelback
To find the one in this life
The one we all dream of
But dreams just aren't enough
So I´ll be waiting for the real thing.
I'll know it by the feeling.
The moment when we´re meeting
Will play out like a scene straight off the silver screen
So I`ll be holdin’ my breath
Right up to the end
Until that moment when
I find the one that I'll spend forever with
Cause nobody wants to be the last one there.
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares.
Someone to love with my life in their hands.
There`s gotta be somebody for me like that.
Cause nobody wants to go it on their own
And everyone wants to know they´re not alone.
Somebody else that feels the same somewhere.
There`s gotta be somebody for me out there.
Tonight out on the street out in the moonlight
And damn it this feels too right
It´s just like Déjà Vu
Me standin’ here with you
So I´ll be holdin`my breath
Could this be the end?
Is it that moment when
I find the one that I'll spend forever with?
‘Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares.
Someone to love with my life in their hands.
There´s gotta be somebody for me like that.
`Cause nobody wants to go it on their own
And everyone wants to know they´re not alone.
Somebody else that feels the same somewhere?
There`s gotta be somebody for me out there.
You can´t give up!
When you're Lookin´ for a diamond in the rough
Because you never know when it shows up
Make sure you´re holdin` on
‘Cause it could be the one, the one you´re waiting on

Xmas Casual Interview
So recently, my hands very itchy, went to apply for a Xmas casual position in a retail shop, Cotton On (kind of like Aeropostale in USA and Padini in Msia). Casual work is when they have no one to work, so they will call u in advance to ask if you can work that shift. A bit different from part time work cause you don't have a specific time.
Got called for an interview, so i went lor. It was bloody long for an interview for a casual position Almost 2 hours. Siao lar this people. Things we had to do during the group interview. The point is for them to be able to judge our personality.
1. Introduce ourself and how old we are, and if we had a superpower, what would it be? ( can't help noticing i'm one of the oldest there)
2. Pair up in groups and introduce our partners and why they should be hired. ( My partner is Nesa, and she is 23 yrs old and has 2 kids)
3. Present about our previous work experience, and any leadership experience and reiterate why COtton On should hire us?
4. Fill up and application form stating which stores we wanted to apply to. and waited for 20 minutes for them to make a decision.
I didn't get it. I got called with a group outside and they told us we were not successful. Most of the asians (except one) that applied did not go through (?).It also has to do with the store you chose and their availabilities. Nesa, my partner, did not go through as well. I wasn't that bummed, but i wished they had let her through, she needed the money for her kids.
Oh well, what an experience. Definitely a blow to my self esteem. Probably i'm not pretty or bubbly enough to work in retail. hahaha. i will continue with lab work.

Conversation with colleague
Me: Of course! (without hesitation)

Me: Why do you ask that? Do you ever wish to be tiny?
S : Yes
Me: Why?
S : Because i'm too tall. I tower above everyone. and I'm noticeable from far away
Me: Ish, ada orang complain terlalu tinggi pulak. Tukar tempat dengan saya-lar :)

A Weekend on the Farm
We left the lab around 5pm on Friday and we only reached her farm around 8:30 due to heavy traffic in the M1 freeway. It was my first time having Raclette that night for dinner and i really liked it. According to Christine and Julie, Raclette is a winter meal common in France, Switzerland and some European countries. There's even a special machine for this dish, called a Raclette grill (what else?) and it looks like this.
See the spatula thing. Everyone has their own spatula. The basic idea is to put a slice of cheese on the spatula and put the spatula on the grill to melt the cheese. As the cheese melts you scrape it off (the word "raclette" comes from the French word "racler," which means "to scrape") and put it on your boiled potatoes. It results to something like this. Looks yummy right?
While waiting for the cheese to melt, we snacked on assorted olives, cold ham and salami and baguette with salted French butter. French food galore~ I'm not admiting to liking everything because there are some stinky cheese that was just too strong and i'm still not fond of olives, but salted butter and peppercorn with stuffed Feta and salami was yummy. We basically had the olives, ham and salami, butter and cheese with baguette as an appetizer every meal. Must be the French way.
After dinner, we watched the opening ceremony of Olympics before retiring to bed. The next morning, we woke up around 10 and had breakfast of scrambled eggs with ham made by Sebastian. We then put on our boots and headed for the tour of her farm. Her farm is huge, i forgot the hectar numbers but it was really big. She rears around 200 angus cattle, this cattle is bred for their meat. The weather on Saturday was awesome and there were sunny skies with white puffy clouds as we all walked around the farm, climbing and jumping the fences to get across. We saw wombat holes along the way but as wombat are nocturnal, we did not see any wombats.
Scott fed the cow with hay. It took him a while because the cows were quite afraid of him but he finally succeeded.
L to R : Julie, Me, Seb, Scott, Christine. I share an office in the lab with Seb, Scott and Christine. Always feel like a dwarf beside Seb and Scott. :)
On Sunday, we woke up and got ready for the great day planned. Had breakfast of thin pancakes with bananas courtesy of Seb again. We were walking to the beach and suddenly there was a downpour and we were soaked and drenched. Thankfully, Seb came to our rescue with the ute and drove us home. It rained the whole day on Sunday and we built a fire and stayed indoors most of the time until it was time to go back to Melbourne around 5.

First Impression Counts
I've also been doing some soul searching this past few weeks. exploring the reason why i am here, is this really what i want, and am i happy doing this, what is my goal in life and what do i want to become? basically, i've been so engrossed on these questions and this soul searching thing is taking up a lot of calories, i eat more and snack so much. I'm pretty sure i will end up being round.jeans are growing tighter as we speak.
